I know I am not the quickest of readers, but, heavens-to-bettsy, they were a bit quick on the Beeb Welsh Newzan Sport? So, in sepia-tone slow-mo, is the squad. The bold names are ones that intrigue me.

Wales 28-man squad for Test matches against Australia in Sydney on 26 May and Brisbane on 2 June:

Backs: L Byrne (Ospreys), C Czekaj (Cardiff Blues), H Luscombe (Harlequins), D James (Llanelli Scarlets), J Robinson (Cardiff Blues), Gareth Thomas (Toulouse, capt), G Henson (Ospreys), A Brew (Newport Gwent Dragons), C Sweeney (Newport Gwent Dragons), J Hook (Ospreys), G Cooper (Newport Gwent Dragons), M Phillips (Cardiff Blues), A Williams (Bath).

Forwards: C Jones (Harlequins), I Thomas (Llanelli Scarlets), R Thomas (Newport Gwent Dragons), A Jones (Ospreys), H Bennett (Ospreys), R Hibbard (Ospreys), M Davies (Gloucester), B Cockbain (Ospreys), R Sidoli (Cardiff Blues), S Morgan (Cardiff Blues), J Thomas (Ospreys), Gavin Thomas (Llanelli Scarlets), C Charvis (Newport Gwent Dragons), M Owen (Newport Gwent Dragons), R Sowden-Taylor (Cardiff Blues).

well wil, you should try sais TV - was hardly mentioned - except, of course "Gavin makes squad" rest of them were not even mentioned - Oh, forgot - Alfie as captain - must have been even less than your 2.8 secs. for showing the whole squad (and that's probably a record). But I've got used to it after 30 odd (VERY odd) years, so I suppose I shouldn't grumble - but I do, I do! (and always blydi will). Feel unqualified, somehow, to make comments on much of the "squad" - as I haven't a blydi clue who the hell some of them are (and I do watch a LOT of rugby, live and on TV)- so I'm concerned as to what on earth we will gain from sending, at best, a "second" team, and leaving most of the world cup squad at home to be "conditioned" - whatever in gods name that means - rugby speak is getting rather too American for me ("that's a big ask - Dewi" - pronounced "Dawy" etc. etc.)- know what I mean guys? Am I on my own here?
And England will gain NOTHING except a massive stuffing in South Africa - it's a strange way to prepare for the World Cup boys, send teams of players, most of whom will never play again for their country, thousands of miles straight on the back of a tough season, to get whipped by Southern hemisphere teams at more or less full strength - do I smell the sound of rustling fivers? HMMMMM. Am I getting cynical in my old age? Think not!

Wilbach asks - have you been reading my mind and/or diary? I agree.
